Chilled items & warm-weather notice

We ship chilled (perishable) foods with ice-gel packs, kept refrigerated. In warm weather, light oil sweating on cured products such as sucuk/pastırma, or softening of cheese, is normal and not a sign of spoilage — it returns to normal once chilled. Please refrigerate items immediately on delivery and be available to receive your order on the delivery day.

Perishable foods are exempt from the 14-day change-of-mind return; your statutory rights for genuine quality or safety issues remain unaffected.

Description

Cornmeal refers to the coarse flour (meal) that is obtained when dried corn is ground. Cornmeal is eaten in various forms all across the world. Boiled cornmeal is called polenta in Italy and it is also a traditional dish in Romania. However, mostly cornmeal is used to make cornbread. You can enjoy these with a side of freshly made creamy hummus to counteract the coarseness of the cornbread. As you might have already guessed, cornmeal is extremely rich in fibre. East End cornmeal can even be used to make chappatis.
