Koç Az Baharatlı Sucuk is a ring of Turkish-style garlic sausage with a milder spice level than the classic hot version – “az baharatlı” means “slightly spiced”. It is made by Koç vleeswaren, a Dutch producer of Turkish meat products operating since 1978, and the 300 g tray carries the ECC halal certification mark and the Dutch EG NL 687 approval code. The pack describes it as a traditional garlic sausage, lightly spiced.
Sucuk is a cornerstone of the Turkish breakfast. Slice it into rounds and fry it dry in a pan until the fat releases and the edges crisp, then add eggs for sucuklu yumurta. It also goes into toasted sandwiches (sucuklu tost), onto home-made pizza and pide, or into dishes such as dry bean stew. Because it is mild, it is a good choice for families who like the flavour of sucuk without too much heat.
Keep it refrigerated between +2 °C and +7 °C as shown on the pack, and cook it before eating. Once opened, re-wrap it tightly and use it by the date printed on the tray.
