Description

Sucuk is the spiced, dried sausage that every Turkish breakfast table knows, and this Kayseri-style version is made from beef. The pack describes it as a Turkish-style garlic sausage made with beef, beef suet, salt, spices and ripening cultures, with 120 g of beef used for every 100 g of finished product. The 300 g pack is packed under a protective atmosphere, the collagen casing is not edible, and the label carries a halal mark.

The classic way to cook it is to slice it and fry it in its own fat, then crack eggs over it for sucuklu yumurta. It is also excellent in a pide or toasted sandwich, folded into omelettes, scattered over pizza, or cooked with white beans, lentils or chickpeas for extra depth. Remove the casing before cooking.
