Chilled items & warm-weather notice

We ship chilled (perishable) foods with ice-gel packs, kept refrigerated. In warm weather, light oil sweating on cured products such as sucuk/pastırma, or softening of cheese, is normal and not a sign of spoilage — it returns to normal once chilled. Please refrigerate items immediately on delivery and be available to receive your order on the delivery day.

Perishable foods are exempt from the 14-day change-of-mind return; your statutory rights for genuine quality or safety issues remain unaffected.

Description

Black Cardamom or Elaichi is obtained after drying the seed pods of the Amomum subulatum plant. Cardamom is one of the most commonly used Indian spices and imparts a smoky, strong, camphor-like flavour to the food. The seeds are usually extracted from black cardamom before use because some find the covering chewy. East End Black Cardamom can be used for a variety of savoury dishes like pulao or biriyani, but if you want to use cardamom to flavour sweet dishes, go for East End Green Cardamom which is also available on our site,
