Roasted salted peanuts, known in Turkey as kavrulmuş tuzlu yer fıstığı, are one of the most familiar snacks on a Turkish table. The peanuts are roasted until crunchy and finished with salt, which gives a savoury, toasty flavour that goes well with tea, coffee or a cold glass of ayran.
Serve them in a bowl for guests, mix them with raisins and almonds for a quick snack mix, or crush them over rice, salads and yoghurt dishes for extra crunch. Coarsely chopped, they also work as a topping for desserts and breakfast bowls.
After opening, close the pack tightly and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight so the peanuts stay crisp. Peanuts are a common allergen, so please read the label on the pack before serving them to anyone with allergies.
