This Ülker square bar combines dark chocolate with 60% cocoa and whole pistachios, known in Turkish as Antep fıstığı after the city of Gaziantep and a favourite nut in Turkish desserts such as baklava. The wrapper names it "Bütün Antep Fıstıklı Bitter Çikolata", and the bar is divided into chunky squares that break off neatly, with whole pistachios set into the chocolate.
A couple of squares make a good partner for a small cup of Turkish coffee or a glass of black tea after a meal. In the kitchen, chop the bar roughly and fold it into brownie or muffin batter, scatter it over porridge or strained yoghurt, or melt it gently in a bowl over hot water and drizzle it over pancakes or poached pears.
