Description

Knorr Çıtır Pane Harcı is a ready-seasoned coating mix for anyone who wants crunchy, golden fried food without mixing flour, breadcrumbs and spices by hand. The 90 g sachet combines crispy breadcrumbs, wheat flour, maize starch and cornflakes with salt, onion, black and white pepper, turmeric, chilli, garlic, ginger and a hint of nutmeg. The pack photograph shows crisp, golden chicken drumsticks, which is exactly what it is made for.

The method is simple. Tip the mix onto a flat plate and beat two eggs in a separate bowl. Dip each piece of chicken, such as drumsticks or strips, into the egg first and then roll it in the mix, pressing lightly so the crumbs stick. Fry in hot oil until golden and cooked through, or lay the pieces on a lined tray and bake them for a lighter result. It is equally good on chicken schnitzel, meatballs (köfte), sliced aubergine, courgette or fish fillets, and it pairs well with lemon wedges, a yoghurt dip or a fresh salad.

Store the sachet in a cool, dry place. It contains wheat and may contain traces of egg, milk, mustard, soy, celery, pine nuts, pistachio, hazelnut, almond and sesame, so check the pack if you cook for someone with allergies.
