Tepsi böreği is the Turkish tray-baked filo pie, traditionally made for family tables and guests. This Fresh Frost version has a cheese filling and weighs 800 g; the pack shows it as one large coil and carries a HALAL mark. According to the pack, the pie is ready in about 40 minutes, so it can go from freezer to table without any rolling or layering at home.
Slice it into wedges and serve it warm for brunch or breakfast with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and plenty of tea. It also suits a lighter supper beside a yoğurtlu salad or a bowl of soup, and it makes an easy starter or side dish when you have guests.
Keep the pie frozen until you are ready to bake; the pack asks you to keep it frozen and to cook it thoroughly. Follow the baking instructions printed on the pack and check that the centre of the coil is hot before cutting.
