Bodrum Baldo Rice is a short, plump grain with a high starch content that absorbs liquid well and cooks soft and creamy. Baldo is the classic choice when a dish should hold together a little rather than stay loose.
In Turkish cooking it is used for a rich pilav served with meat dishes, for the rice filling of dolma and sarma, and for sütlaç, the baked rice pudding. It also works in risotto-style dishes. Rinse the rice well, then cook it according to the pack directions; for pilav, sauté it briefly in butter first and rest the covered pot for ten minutes after cooking. For sütlaç, simmer the rice slowly in milk with sugar until thick and creamy.
Store the 2 kg pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the opened rice in an airtight container. Please check the pack label for ingredients, allergen information and nutrition values.
