Description

Sarımsak turşusu, pickled garlic, turns sharp raw garlic into something mellow, crunchy and pleasantly sour. This Melis jar holds whole peeled cloves in brine and weighs 180 g, a convenient size for a pantry shelf. The brand has been producing pickles in Türkiye since 1992.

Pickled garlic is a favourite on Turkish tables. Serve a few cloves beside grilled meat, kebabs and köfte, add them to a meze plate with olives and cheese, or slice them into salads, sandwiches and wraps. Finely chopped, they lift yoghurt dips, lentil soups and stews, and the brine itself can be used sparingly in dressings. Because the cloves are milder than fresh garlic, they are easy to enjoy straight from the jar.

Store the unopened jar in a cool, dry place. After opening, keep it in the fridge with the cloves covered by the brine and use a clean fork each time.
