Duru Pilavlık Yerli Pirinç is a Turkish-grown, first-class, long-grain rice, graded Type C with a maximum of 5% broken grains. Duru Bulgur selects the rice at harvest and packs it in factories certified to ISO 22000, IFS and BRC, so that each grain delivers the same quality. The ingredient list is one word: rice.
It is made for the pilaf pot. Plain butter pilaf, pilaf with orzo, tomato pilaf and chicken pilaf all start from rice like this, and a bowl of it is the usual companion to kuru fasulye, stews, kebabs and roasted chicken. The producer's guide is easy to remember: one cup of rice to 2.25 cups of boiling water. For grains that stay separate, rinse the rice until the water runs fairly clear, and rest the cooked pot with a cloth under the lid for ten minutes before serving.
The rice is also a dependable choice for dolma and sarma fillings. Keep the bag in a cool, dry place away from the sun, and after opening move the rice to a sealed jar to keep out moisture and odours. The producer gives a shelf life of two years for the unopened pack.
