Description

Gün kurusu kayısı, literally 'sun-dried apricot', is the Turkish name for the brown, naturally dried style of apricot. It is soft and chewy, with a deep, honey-like apricot flavour. Apricots are a much-loved fruit in Turkish cooking, and this Anthap pack gives you a ready-to-eat version that needs no preparation.

Enjoy them straight from the pack with tea, or pair them with walnuts or a slice of white cheese for a simple snack. In the kitchen, they can be simmered into kayısı hoşafı (apricot compote), soaked and filled with walnuts or clotted cream for a classic dessert, chopped into muesli, porridge or yoghurt, or folded into cakes, cookies and rice dishes. Soaking them in warm water for a short while makes them plumper and easier to blend into sauces and jams.
