Sütaş Krem Peynir is a smooth, spreadable cream cheese sold in a 300 g glass jar. It is made entirely from Sütaş cheeses, and its easy-to-spread texture is a favourite with families, especially for children's breakfasts and snacks. A 100 g serving provides about 13 g of protein and 500 mg of calcium, and the cheese is mild and creamy rather than sharp.
On a Turkish breakfast table it sits next to olives, tomatoes and cucumber, and is spread thickly on fresh bread, toast or a warm simit. It also makes a quick sandwich filling with sliced cucumber or fresh herbs, can be stirred with chopped dill and garlic into a simple dip for crudités, or used to fill a rolled omelette or börek-style pastry. Because it spreads at fridge temperature, it works well in a packed lunch as well.
Per 100 g the cheese contains about 190 kcal, 14 g of fat and 1.1 g of salt. Keep the jar in the fridge at +4 °C with the lid closed, and finish it within one week of opening. The cheese contains milk, so it is not suitable for anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance.
