SuperFresh Taze Fasulye is a bag of frozen green beans, sold in 450 g and made from beans only, with no other ingredients listed. The pack shows broad, flat Turkish-style beans and is labelled 'Aç Pişir', meaning you can cook the beans straight from frozen without thawing, which saves time on a weekday evening. The beans come from Türkiye.
Taze fasulye is one of the best-loved vegetable dishes of the Turkish table. For the classic zeytinyağlı version, soften chopped onion and garlic in olive oil, add the frozen beans with a grated tomato or a spoonful of tomato paste, a pinch of sugar and a little hot water, then simmer until tender and let it cool to serve at room temperature with a squeeze of lemon. For a hearty main, cook the beans with cubes of beef or lamb and rice on the side, or add them to a mixed vegetable stew.
Per 100 g the beans provide about 28 kcal, 5 g of carbohydrate and 1.3 g of protein. Keep the bag in the freezer at -18 °C and do not refreeze the beans once they have thawed. Seal the bag well after taking out what you need.
