Gül Aromalı Lokum, or rose Turkish delight, is probably the best-known lokum flavour: a soft, chewy sweet with the gentle scent of rose. Bodrum's version comes in a clear 200 g plastic tray, with pink cubes under a fine white dusting visible through the lid, and a dark top label showing rose petals, a serving suggestion and the red Bodrum logo.
Rose lokum is traditionally offered after a meal beside a small cup of Turkish coffee or a tulip glass of tea, where its sweetness balances the bitterness of the drink. It is also a popular gift during Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı, and when visiting relatives and neighbours. For something different, chop a few cubes and stir them into rice pudding, or serve them with sliced fruit and pistachios on a dessert platter.
Keep the tray closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, and press the lid shut after opening so the pieces do not dry out. Please read the label on your pack for the full ingredients and allergen information.
