Tombul Organic Baby Tarhana is the brand's baby version of tarhana, the traditional Turkish soup powder made by fermenting flour and yogurt with vegetables, then drying and grinding it. The manufacturer says it is made with organic ingredients and contains no additives, preservatives or artificial sweeteners; its main ingredients include organic whole wheat flour, yogurt, red capia pepper, carrot, onion, mint and sourdough. It comes in a jute sack with blue-stitched seams.
The manufacturer presents it as a tarhana for babies who have started solid food and for young children, and gives a simple method: stir one tablespoon (about 20 g) into a cup (250 ml) of water, bring it to the boil while stirring, then keep cooking over a low heat until it reaches the consistency you want, and serve it once it has cooled to a comfortable temperature. For older children and adults it also makes a quick bowl of soup with a drizzle of olive oil.
