Ali Baba Black Tea & Safflower combines black Ceylon tea leaves with dried safflower (aspir) flowers in a clear 100 g jar, so you can see the dark tea leaves flecked with orange and red petals before you open it. The label lists just two ingredients: black Ceylon tea and dried safflower.
Brew it the way you would any loose black tea: warm the pot, add a teaspoon per cup, pour over freshly boiled water and steep for about four to five minutes, or use a Turkish double teapot (çaydanlık) and let it rest on the lower pot's steam. Serve in a thin-waisted tulip glass with sugar cubes, or enjoy it plain. It pairs well with simit, börek, olives and cheese at breakfast, or with a slice of cake in the afternoon.
Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct light and strong smells, so the leaves stay fragrant until the last cup.
