Ecegün Çerez Tatlısı is a Turkish-style nut dessert packed in a round 420 g glass jar. Through the glass you can see sliced almonds and green pistachio kernels suspended in a golden, honey-flavoured syrup, which is what the 'Bal Aromalı' (honey-flavoured) name on the label refers to. The jar is made in Türkiye.
There is no cooking involved: open the jar and spoon the nuts and syrup straight onto the plate. In Turkish homes this kind of sweet is served with strong black tea or Turkish coffee, offered to guests after a meal, or kept as a small treat for holidays. It also works spooned over plain yoghurt, warm semolina or rice pudding, or alongside a slice of cheese and fresh bread at breakfast.
Because the jar contains tree nuts (almonds and pistachios are visible), it is not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy; read the allergen and storage instructions printed on the jar before use, and keep the lid closed after opening.
