Ask Bio about this range · Cleaning
Spring and early autumn are when most households do the big clean, and that is when this section gets busiest. Windows, kitchen tiles, bathroom limescale, carpets before the heating goes on: each of those jobs has a familiar Turkish product behind it, and having them in the cupboard before you start saves a mid-job trip out. The same is true before Ramadan and Bayram, when kitchens and guest rooms tend to get a proper going over rather than a quick wipe.
The range and the brands
There are over 80 products in this section, covering surface cleaners, bathroom and limescale removers, liquid and Arabic soaps, wipes and colognes. Recognisable names include Porcoz Rust And Lime Remover 1000ml, Asperox 1000ml Magic Yellow and its Magic Blue bathroom counterpart, ABC 900ml Herbal Liquid Soap, Sleepy 100 pcs Surface Cleaning Towel in plain, bleach-added and Arabic soap versions, and Bogazici 400ml Lemon Cologne. Brands stocked include Bogazici Kolonya, Eyup Sabri Tuncer, Kenton, Village and Ariel. Prices start from under £2, so a full restock is not an expensive order.
Matching a product to the job
Limescale and rust on taps, kettles and shower screens want a dedicated remover rather than a general spray. Greasy kitchen surfaces respond better to a strong all-purpose cleaner such as the yellow Asperox. Bathrooms are the place for the blue one. Arabic soap in liquid form suits floors, painted wood and anything you do not want stripped by something harsher. Sleepy surface wipes are for the quick jobs between deep cleans, and the bleach-added sheets are the ones to reach for around bins and sinks. Cologne, in Turkish homes, is not a cleaning product so much as a habit: offered to guests, used on hands after a meal.
Safe use and storage at home
Never mix a bleach-based product with a limescale or acid cleaner, and open a window when you use anything strong. Keep concentrated bottles upright, capped and out of reach of children, ideally in a cool cupboard rather than under a hot sink pipe. Test any cleaner on a small hidden patch first if you are dealing with natural stone, unsealed wood or coloured grout. Wipe packs dry out once opened, so press the lid down properly after each use.

Cleaning — frequently asked questions
How are these products used in a Turkish home?›
Most Turkish households keep a strong all-purpose cleaner for kitchens, a separate bathroom product for limescale, and Arabic soap for floors and painted surfaces. Cologne sits apart from cleaning: it is offered to guests and used on hands after meals, which is why lemon cologne appears alongside the cleaning products here.
What pairs well with the Sleepy surface wipes?›
Wipes handle daily surfaces, but they are not a substitute for a proper cleaner. Pair them with Asperox Magic Yellow for kitchen worktops and Porcoz for taps and shower screens. The bleach-added Sleepy sheets are best kept for bins and sinks, and the plain ones for tables and shelves.
Which brands do you stock in cleaning?›
The cleaning section includes Bogazici Kolonya, Eyup Sabri Tuncer, Kenton, Village and Ariel, along with widely used products such as Porcoz, Asperox, ABC herbal liquid soap and the Sleepy range of surface towels and wipes. Each product page lists the brand and pack size.
Where do colognes and soaps sit on the site?›
Colognes, bar soaps, shampoos and shaving items have their own Personal Care section, with sub-categories for Soaps, Shampoos, and Cologne and Creams. A few overlapping products, such as Bogazici lemon cologne and ABC liquid soap, appear in both places so you can find them either way.
Can I order cleaning products with my food shop?›
Yes. Cleaning items go in the same basket as groceries and count towards the £60 free delivery threshold for London and mainland UK. Bottles are packed separately from food within the parcel, and anything chilled in your order travels with ice-gel packs.
