Picture a Turkish breakfast table on a Sunday morning in Britain: white cheese, olives, tea in tulip glasses, and in the middle of it all warm bread that nobody wants to be the last to reach for. That table, along with iftar, bayram visits and the after-dinner tray of sweets, is what this bakery range is built for. Bread, savoury pastry and dessert are baked and packed so they arrive in a state you can actually serve.

From the oven: breads, boreks and sweets

Over 50 products sit across two sub-categories, Bread etc and Cookie. On the bread side there is Pita Bread 1 Piece With Sesame and a plain version for kebab nights, Freshly 1 Pcs Baked Sumon Bread for everyday sandwiches, Daily Bakery Fresh 1 Pcs Acma Bagel and Freshly Baked Round Simit Roll for breakfast, plus Maun 5 Pcs Turkish Baton Bagel 600g when you want a packet in the cupboard. Maun Adana Borek 500g covers the savoury pastry corner. For dessert, Sehri Antep 500g Antep Style Special Pistachio Baklava and the dry pistachio version travel well, alongside Daily Fresh 500gr Tulumba Sweet Dessert and Daily Fresh Turkish Ring Dessert. Prices start from under £2.

Serving, refreshing and freezing

Fresh bread is at its best on the day, so freeze what you will not finish. Slice somun before freezing and it toasts straight from frozen. Pide and acma come back to life with three or four minutes in a hot oven; a microwave will soften them but also make them chewy. Baklava should be kept at room temperature in its box rather than in the fridge, which dulls the pastry and firms the syrup. Tulumba is best eaten within a day or two while the syrup is still in balance with the crust.

Delivery across Britain

Orders go out with DHL Express and usually arrive within one to two business days anywhere in the UK. Spend £60 or more and delivery to London and mainland UK is free, otherwise a flat £5.99 applies. Chilled items are packed with ice-gel packs, and a DHL tracking number is emailed as soon as your parcel is dispatched.

Bakery — frequently asked questions

When is the dispatch cutoff?›

Orders placed before 12:00 Monday to Friday are typically dispatched the same day. Anything after that, or over a weekend, goes out on the next working day. Bakery items are baked and packed close to dispatch, so ordering earlier in the week usually gives you the widest choice.

Can I return bread or fresh desserts?›

Returns are accepted on unopened non-perishable goods. Bread, borek and fresh desserts such as tulumba are perishable, so they cannot be returned once delivered. If something arrives damaged or clearly not right, contact us with your order number and photos and we will sort it out.

How long does delivery take to Northern Ireland or the Scottish Highlands?›

Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Wight and other UK islands are charged on a weight basis and are not covered by the free delivery threshold. DHL Express still aims for one to two business days, though remote postcodes can occasionally take a little longer.

Is fresh bakery suitable for sending to island postcodes?›

It can be, but bear in mind that bread and fresh desserts are at their best in the first day or two. For island and Highland addresses, shelf-stable items such as Maun 5 Pcs Turkish Baton Bagel or dry baklava travel more comfortably than daily bread and syrup desserts.

How is my bakery order packed?›

Breads and pastries are packed to keep their shape in transit, and anything chilled goes out with ice-gel packs. Baklava and other syrup sweets are boxed so the pieces stay separate. You will receive a DHL tracking number by email so you can be in when the parcel arrives.
