Description

This Detox Tea (Detoks Çayı) is a loose-leaf blend of dried herbs and fruit pieces, sold in a clear 100 g bag with a hanging header card. Through the film you can see what look like strips of dried citrus peel, red rosehip-like berries, curls of coconut, pieces of cinnamon bark and rolled tea leaves, so what you pour into the pot is what you see on the shelf. The header card carries a '100% natural' badge.

In Turkish homes, fruit and herb infusions like this are brewed in a teapot or a French press and served in a tulip glass or a mug, either between meals or after dinner. Use roughly a heaped teaspoon of the blend per cup, pour over freshly boiled water, cover and let it infuse for a few minutes, or as directed on the pack. A slice of lemon or a little honey suits it well, and a cooled brew kept in the fridge can be served over ice.
