Description

Rosehip, or kuşburnu, is one of the most familiar flavours in Turkish kitchens, linked with cold-weather drinks. This Ali Baba powder is a rosehip-flavoured instant drink mix rather than a brewed herbal tea, so there are no dried fruit pieces to steep or strain; it simply dissolves in water.

Following the directions on the box, stir two small spoons into a glass of hot water, or one tablespoon into a glass of cold water, and sweeten to taste if you like. The result is a pleasantly tangy, fruity drink with a reddish tone that is comforting hot in winter and refreshing over ice in summer. Serve it with biscuits, plain cake, dried fruit or Turkish sweets.
