Ali Baba Ottoman Tea (Osmanlı Çayı) is a mixed herbal infusion in a 100 g jar. The producer's ingredient list reads melisa (lemon balm), fennel, pink rose, red rose leaf, jasmine flower, hibiscus, rosehip and green tea. Together they make a floral, fruity and lightly sweet cup with a ruby tint from the hibiscus and rosehip, far from the strong taste of black tea.
Use a heaped teaspoon per cup, pour over boiling water and let it infuse for about five to seven minutes. Blends like this are a warming choice on cold evenings and for guests; serve it in a small tulip glass with a slice of orange or lemon, or a spoon of honey. It can also be chilled and poured over ice as a floral iced tea. Because the blend includes green tea, it contains a little caffeine.
Keep the jar tightly sealed in a cool, dry, dark place so the petals and leaves keep their fragrance. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition, ask your doctor before drinking herbal mixtures regularly.
