Chilled items & warm-weather notice

We ship chilled (perishable) foods with ice-gel packs, kept refrigerated. In warm weather, light oil sweating on cured products such as sucuk/pastırma, or softening of cheese, is normal and not a sign of spoilage — it returns to normal once chilled. Please refrigerate items immediately on delivery and be available to receive your order on the delivery day.

Perishable foods are exempt from the 14-day change-of-mind return; your statutory rights for genuine quality or safety issues remain unaffected.

Description

Makdous are eggplants that have been cured in oil. They're small, sour eggplants filled with hazelnuts, garlic powder, onion, balsamic vinegar, and salt and served as part of Levantine cuisine. Chilli powder is often used. In Arab nations, it is a common breakfast, dinner, or snack meal. Baladna Makdous is an ancient Syrian dish made with only the best aubergine harvests of exceptional quality. It is made by combining paprika, hazelnuts, and oil with a pinch of garlic and pepper, as well as a lot of love and attention, to create the renowned Syrian flavour, which is ready to consume with or without any other ingredients. Makdous is one of the most well-known traditional Arabic meals, and it is impossible to imagine an Arab home without it.
