Description

Şalgam suyu is a traditional drink of southern Türkiye, and the Adana style is the best known of all. It is a fermented drink with a deep purple-red colour and a sour, salty, savoury taste; the colour traditionally comes from black carrot, and turnip is often added as well. This is the acılı (spicy) version, so every sip is tangy first and warming afterwards.

This 250 ml glass bottle is a single-serve size, ideal for one person at the table or for taking a small bottle along to a picnic or barbecue. Serve it very cold, straight from the fridge. It is the classic companion of kebabs, grilled meat, lahmacun and liver, because its sourness and salt cut through rich food, and it also suits börek, fried fish and meze plates with olives and pickles.
