Description

Hünnap Keçiboynuzu Özü is a thick, dark carob extract in a 310 g glass jar, a traditional Anatolian sweet pantry staple. The label carries a red 'Soğuk İnfüzyon' (cold infusion) seal, the name the producer gives to the method used to make it.

Carob extract has a deep, caramel-like, slightly fruity sweetness, so it is used much like molasses. Spread it on bread with tahini for breakfast, drizzle it over yoghurt, porridge, pancakes or ice cream, or stir a spoonful into warm milk or cold water for a refreshing drink. It also works in baking, in place of some of the sugar in cakes and cookies, and as a glaze for roast vegetables.

The extract is naturally dense and slow to pour. Close the lid tightly after each use and follow the storage instructions printed on the label. Check the label on your jar for the ingredient list, nutrition values and allergen information.
