This 300 g glass jar holds Koska tahini with a single ingredient: sesame seeds. Koska explains that its tahini is made by hulling and roasting sesame seeds and then grinding them in a mill, with no additives, preservatives, thickeners or added oil. The paste is smooth and creamy with a deep roasted flavour. Per 100 g the manufacturer lists 695 kcal, 57.1 g of fat, 25.7 g of protein and 12.1 g of fibre.
For a traditional Turkish breakfast, pour tahini onto a plate with grape or mulberry pekmez and swirl them together before dipping bread. Thinned with lemon juice, garlic and water, it becomes a creamy sauce for falafel, grilled vegetables and fish, and it is the base of hummus and baba ganoush. In baking it adds richness to tahinli çörek, cookies, brownies and halva. Oil may rise to the top over time, so stir the jar thoroughly before use.
The product contains sesame. Keep the jar closed in a cool, dry place and use a clean spoon.
