Description

Eti Crax Peynirli is a bag of long, thin cracker sticks with a golden, crisp bite and a savoury cheese flavour; the blue pack calls it 'Daha Peynirli', meaning 'more cheesy'. According to the Turkish label information the sticks are seasoned with cheese powder (2.4%), whey powder and a little red pepper, so the taste is salty and savoury rather than sweet.

In Turkish homes crackers like these are served with a glass of ayran or tea, alongside a snack platter of olives, cheese cubes and cucumber, or simply passed round during a film evening. The long sticks are also handy for dipping into hummus, a yoghurt-and-herb dip or a spoonful of soft white cheese.

The 80 g bag is easy to share; fold the top down tightly after opening and keep it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to preserve the crunch.
