Çaykur Filiz is a loose-leaf black tea in a 500 g pack. The retailer's label information lists a single ingredient, black tea, and gives Turkey as the origin. It is a practical size for a household that brews tea every day.
Brew it the Turkish way in a two-tier çaydanlık, with the tea in the upper pot and hot water over it, kept on low heat. The guidance on the label is about 2 teaspoons per cup, 13 to 15 minutes of brewing and limescale-free water, with the best flavour if the tea is drunk within half an hour. Pour the strong brew into a tulip glass and top up with hot water from the lower pot to your preferred strength. It goes well with a Turkish breakfast, with biscuits in the afternoon, or on its own during a break.
Store the pack in a cool, dry place. After opening, keep the tea in a closed container away from moisture and strong odours so the aroma stays fresh.
